Vouvray Chenin Blanc Sec (Dry)Domaine du Petit Coteau

This dry Vouvray is made from 100% Chenin Blanc grapes from the Loire Valley.  It is medium-bodied with deep, full flavors of peach, melon and quince.  Fruit forward until the finish, which presents notes of honey and vanilla. It is an excellent wine for an aperitif or with sausages, shellfish, fruits, or cheeses.

Chenin Blanc, also called Pineau de al Loire, has been grown in the Loire Valley for more than a thousand years.  It is also grown in South Africa and the United States but it achieves its best expression in the 100 mile area of the Loire Valley between Blois and Savennières. These finicky, late-ripening grapes are usually harvested around the middle of October and can be vinifed in a range of styles from austere, mineral, and refreshing to rich, honey-sweet, and even sparkling.

This dry Vouvray (Les Grenouilles means frogs!)  is a medium-bodied with has deep, full flavors of peach, melon and quince, and are ripe and forward until the finish, and has a long, delicate honey finish. It is excellent as an aperitif, with sausages, shellfish, fruits, and cheeses.
