2009 Muscadet sur lie Guy Bossard

This excellent Muscadet from France, 100% Melon grapes, comes one of the top producers in the region.  It is a light, very dry wine with good intense fruit flavors from fermenting “on lees.”  It's tart citrus-like acidity refreshes and pleases the palate.  From the French Atlantic seacoast, it is a perfect choice for lighter meals or as an aperitif.

Guy Bossard is another of those winegrowers who converted to certified organic methods for health reasons, after his father became very ill from agro-chemicals. Certified since 1975, he now produces one of the best ranges of wines in the Muscadet region, organic or otherwise, from just a little over 50 acres. Grapes are always hand picked and shire horses are used to plough the oldest plots.
