Book a Tour! Visit our Estate Red Cedar Vineyard

RED CEDAR VINEYARD TOURS   It’s become cliché to say that great wine is made in the vineyard, but there’s no denying that tasty wines wouldn’t exist without dedicated grape growers who spend time in the vineyard to grow the absolute finest wine grapes possible.    And the best way to see exactly what goes into growing grapes is to experience the vineyard first hand on an in-depth vineyard tour.  Clayhouse’s estate Red Cedar Vineyard just east of Paso Robles is a 1,400-acre oasis supporting over 20 varieties of wine grapes.  On a personalized tour of Red Cedar, you’re sure to get a glimpse of your favorite varietal wine grape, as well as learn a thing or two about soils, trellising, and the topography of California’s Central Coast itself.  A vineyard tour is a great way to get the entire family involved in understanding how important agriculture is to the California economy.   Of course your tour includes tastings of Clayhouse wines amongst the vines that produced the grapes in the bottle.  There’s also a stop at the historic Adobe home, built in the mid-1800s, where you’ll taste Clayhouse Adobe Red and White in the cool shadows of the restored building.  Included in each tour is your wine glass and gourmet snacks sourced from the local cheese and meat suppliers (and non-alcoholic beverages, as well).  Spring, summer and fall are the very best seasons to take a tour in the vineyard.   Tours last approximately two hours.  Cost is $40 per person and are ½ price for Red Cedar Society (wine club) members and anyone under 21, making it only $20 per person for a tour with you and your friends or family!  Make your reservations by calling the Clayhouse tasting room, (805) 238-7055.  We prefer at least one week of advance notice, but we will always try and accommodate your schedule.   More information: www.clayhousewines.com, or Kari Kittinger at (805) 238-7055.
