2010 Lewis Cellars Chardonnay Napa
Details
2010Lewis Cellars Napa Valley Chardonnay
95 pts (CGW) Lewis Chardonnays are always among the richer bottlings to be had, and, when as well-balanced as the brace from 2010, they take their usual place at the head of the class. This one from the Napa Valley is a big, broad, no-holds-barred wine whose sweeping fruit and unabashed oak are wholly in sync and seamlessly knit. Its striking length is as impressive as its concentration and depth, but this is not a wine for those looking for a lean, soft-spoken effort. Rather than oysters and their ilk, this one will shine with dishes wanting authoritative Chardonnay and is guaranteed to delight fans of the same. Connoisseur's Guide to California Wine January 2012

The usually warm Oak Knoll district north of Carneros was cooler than
usual in 2010, giving us extended hang time toward harvest and enabling
the grapes to achieve full ripeness and maturity. Our 2010 Napa Valley
Chardonnay is full of ripe tree fruit - apricot, apple, and pear - with
mineral and pistachio adding complex, nutty notes to the blend. With
the flavor and texture of creamy caramel custard, the wine remains
rooted with ample integrated acidity and toasty oak. 1,200 cases
produced. Winery Notes
