2009 Sixteen by Twenty Sonoma Coast Chardonnay Gaps Crown Vyd

The color is a brilliant, youthful gold,  that is typical of our Gap’s Crown Vineyard. There is a beautiful, refreshing nose of cool, fresh cold climate Chardonnay fruit. Aromas of lemon curd, lemon peel, minerals and lime are noticed first but layers of pear, mango and spicy dashes like nutmeg show themselves as well. There is a full, rich mouth feel that gives this Chardonnay substance without weightiness. Delicious, refreshing flavors of citrus, pear and a bit of tropical fruit are supported by layers of crème brullee,  a bit of spicy oak and lightly buttered toast. A seamless middle, excellent  balance  and a long refreshing finish make for a complex  Chardonnay  that stays vibrant  and intriguing. Paul Hobbs Consulting Winemaker
