2007 Joseph Swan Saralee's Vineyard Russian River
93pts(WE)Tight in acidity and tannins now, but very complex, offering a range of cherry, tangerine zest, mushroom, cola and Indian spice flavors that swirl to a long finish. The mouthfeel is delicate, but the power is impressive. Drink now–2015. S.H. (8/1/2011) Wine Enthusiast

Medium cherry red color. The nose exhibits the usual array of red fruits but this year it is more cherry than strawberry/raspberry. Even though we used a fair amount of new oak it is not evident as the fruit dominates the oak spice. In the mouth it is at once lush and a bit lean, finishing with a bit of grip at the sides of the mouth. Lovely now, better later. (For the record, I will be drink- ing the 2006 for the next couple of years before delving into this wine, or any of the 2007's for that matter. The 2006 pinot noirs have reached a beautiful place and are showing much more than they were even a few months ago.) 560 cases bottled. Winery Notes
