This beautifully crisp white from our Ca’ del Solo estate vineyard in Monterey is perhaps the first wine to be made predominately of the very old Portuguese vinho verde white-grape, loureiro, outside the Iberian Peninsula. A variety yet to be recognized in the US, loureiro is known for its striking acidity and exuberant aromatics of bay leaf, acacia, lime tree and peach.
Winemaker Notes
Farmed and produced in accordance to Biodynamic® practice, with the intention of restoring life and vitality to our soils, respecting the farm as a complex and self-sustaining organism, and producing wines with a particular emphasis on the expression of place. Vinho Grinho exhibits bright aromas of lemon blossom, white ginger and laurel; and flavors of wild herbs, citrus rind and green almond finishing long, crisp and briny. Pairs brilliantly with fresh oysters, grilled crustaceans of every stripe and sheep’s milk cheese.
