The most noble of Rhône red varieties, syrah has traveled farther and more successfully than any other. A native of southeast France, it has been loved for centuries in the guise of northern Rhône wines such as Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage, and Cornas. Its dark robe, meaty, ageworthy texture and evocative perfume reminiscent of fresh game, pepper, and violets give it pride of place among the finest wine varieties in the world.

From the dramatically geological extrusions and the alluvial outcropping dreamscape of the Alamo Creek Valley, located slightly Northeast of the town of Santa Maria—the place where the wild things roam—comes this intensely concentrated and mineral-rich Syrah. Deeply colored, seductively perfumed, peppery and gamey, it offers breathtaking balance.

For optimal expression, we suggest a gentle decanting, allowing the wine to breathe an hour or two prior to consumption.
