Not unlike a mythic chimerical blend of Anna Magnani and Italo Covino, our supernal Toscano, featuring Superhero Sangius Jovis (aka Blood of Jove, Sangiovese) is an unusually complex, earthy red full of la dolce vita.

A melange of vineyards contributes to this wonderous red - 52% Gimelli Vineyard sangiovese from San Benito, 33% syrah from Alamo Creek in Paso Robles and 15% cinsault from Woock Vineyard in Lodi. The syrah adds balance and complexity, but it's the sangiovese that makes this blend truly Italian. A vibrant ruby red color, the 2007 has seductive, ripe aromas of cherry-berry, pepper, soy and a bit of wood spice. On the palate it is crisp and medium bodied with a long tart and juicy finish.
