The heavens opened its bounty upon the Beeswax Vineyard in the Arroyo Seco section of Monterey County in 2007.
A deliciously decadent Vin de Paille dessert wine made from grenache blanc grapes that were left to dry two weeks in the vineyard, in the shade of the vine. Picked early in the morning and dried á la vin di paille, the concentrated fruit was then brought to our winery in Santa Cruz for whole cluster pressing, ensuring the wines complexity and nuance. With 15% residual sugar, this decadent wine is deliciously drinkable and in one of those odd synchronicities not uncommon to Bonny Doon, there is an unmistakable and extremely attractive hint of beeswax.
