Bien Nacido Vineyard has become one of the most prestigious and best known vineyards in California. In fact, the Santa Maria appellation owes much of its reputation as a producer of world class wines to the remarkable Chardonnay, Pinot noir, and Syrah wines produced from its grapes.

We source our syrah from two blocks, both of which are farmed using biodynamic practices. With such superior grapes, the winemaking can afford to be fairly hands-off, and we feel we’ve accomplished a degree of clarity in this wine that allows the sense of place to shine through.

Syrah’s signature bacon fat, leather, and spice serve as a rich backdrop for the more delicate perfume of eucalyptus, blackberry and violets. We recommend gently decanting this wine, though it continues to age tremendously well.
