Titanium Thermal Barrier Plates
Details
Heat is required in a brake pad to work properly in performance applications. But when this heat bleeds from the pads and rotors into the rest of your braking system, performance goes down. This is often indicated by a soft pedal as the fluid boils. Even before the fluid gets hot enough to fully reach the boiling point, performance is decreased due to increased compressibility. And, in a street caliper, this heat will melt the caliper dust boots, requiring more frequent rebuilds.
The solution - BimmerWorld Titanium Thermal Barrier Plates. Titanium has only 40% or less of the thermal conductivity of the steel material used for brake backing plates. Placing these thin 6AL-4V titanium plates between the brake pad and caliper piston will reduce heat transfer approximately 70 degrees, giving your braking system more heat capacity and longer rebuild intervals. This is not Grade 2 Ti of other brands that can be purchased for 1/3 of the price - this is the good stuff. A must for track use - especially in heavier full-interior street cars and stock and prepared class racers.
Sold in axle sets (one plate per caliper). Rattle clips must be removed for proper fitment. Suggested for use in both front and rear axles.
