MaxSil™ BMW Pistons are cast and CNC machined using a special aluminum alloy blend that includes the optimum amount of silicon offing more strength, less weight(40g per piston), less heat expansion, and less friction than other alloys. This allows installers to hold a .0015 (+/-.0003") clearance between piston and cylinder wall without risk of seizure.
Most MaxSil™ Pistons are offered with oversized bore dimensions between .025mm and 1.2mm depending on the application (found in chart). All MaxSil™ Pistons include .002" oversize pins and pin bores. This allows installers to micro hone the rod bushing to size for a precision fit of piston pin to rod bushing.
*MaxSil™ pistons are similar to OE pistons, but may not comply with class rules dictating the use of stock pistons.
Priced per piston - each piston comes with a pin and ring kit.
